unlocked in 6th or locked in 5th

    which is better to do?

im having an issue getting it to lock in 5th because it wants to shift to 6th. but then im having to increase the 5>6 shift higher than the lockup of the 5th gear apply.

i've been using bluecats 6lxxe spreadsheet.

I take it you are letting off the throttle and instead of locking the converter in 5th it will shift to 6th correct? If so, look at what speed you are trying to get it to lock at compared to you TPS position in your log. Then Adjust TCC Apply/Release table (5th) down in MPH until the desired affect occurs. The reason you prbably aren't locking is due to the stall which would show higher TPS % and hold it from locking. Setting the MPH lower will take care of this. you may have to alter your shift point tables some also. I had to do this on my setup due to the high stall also. Hope that helps! Take care!
