Unplug the scanner, get out of the car and lock the doors with the remote. Go back in and try it again in 20 minutes it should move. If not, start the engine then unplug the transmsision to see if it moves or not. If it does move then the TEHCM is either fired or programed wrong.

Ok then just lock the driver side door using the key and wait 20 minutes or so. And yes the TCM is inside the transmission, mounted on the valve body, it is called a TEHCM because it comes with the solenoids as well.

Communications codes should be address before replacing the TEHCM for sure, those can be tricky to diagnose.

The communication "U" code is likely the result of the TCM being bad. As Robert said try unplugging the trans harness and see if you now have a gear. If you do the next step is to plug the connector back in and attempt to communicate with the trans. I use Data Bus Diagnostic Tool. It will tell me right away if a module is to giving a state of health message. A scan tool that will directly communicate with the trans should be good enough if you didn't do anything wiring related and ALL power and grounds check out good.
Knock it off with the newbie crap though. Everyone on here does not pick on new people. They will pick on someone who comes in wanting everything done for them for free, is ungrateful when they get that help, and feel entitled to head of the line privileges. So as long as your not a dick you will get the help you need.

You have to start it first, then unplug it. You need to have it connected in order for the starter motor to work.

I will give it a stretch and say it is nothing in the tune. I base that on the communication errors to the TCM. If you had a table or setting incorrect or just off a little it would be a driveability issue not a catastrophic style of no forward gears. Not being a smart ass but as a mechanic your first course of action is always to pull a scan tool out and scan the vehicle for com and codes. If you have codes your next step is freeze frame so you have a better ability to re-create the conditions for the code and a possible cause. Next is verify a customer concern. Next is diagnose to the component level. Next is authorize the repair, second to last is fix and last verify the repair by recreating the same criteria or a drive cycle. Collect that money.
