Problem installing drivers with windows 7

I am having difficulty downloading the drivers with windows 7. I left the install cd in like instructions say and when I plugged in usb cable, the options to download drivers never appear. I found the link below on this website and saved the zip files to my desktop:

    http://www.hptuners.com/pub/HPT_MPVI_Drivers.zip

Windows 7 64 bit operating systems driver install instructions
    1)Download the drivers here http://www.hptuners.com/pub/HPT_MPVI_Drivers.zip
2)Unzip the drivers to your desktop
3)Connect your MPVI interface to your laptop
4)At this point the driver install will likely fail(it did for me)
5)Open the control panel and in the search window enter device drivers
6)Under Device manager select the update device drivers one
7)There will likely be two MPVI devices with an ! listed next to them in the 'other devices' section
8)Right click on the first one, click update driver software
9)A window will come up, tell it to browse my computer for driver software-from there find your desktop
    10) it will now install properly
11)repeat for the second one and you're done!

My main question is about unzipping these files to my computer. How do I unzip the files? Can someone tell me from looking at the picture exactly what to click on to unzip the files. Any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Planethax, thank you for the confirmation, in this case he is using a serial interface(discontinued back in 2005) which do not need drivers, he needs to download his software from his customer page then remove the net framework check using msi edit which we linked to http://www.brothersoft.com/easy-msi-...oad-70589.html

You are likely not unzipping the drivers properly. The demo shows you exactly what you need to do.

Best advice would be to look around for people with the same issues before posting, this has been answered multiple times and I'm guilty of posting first before looking around. Watch the video!!!

So if your drivers show up under "usb" and not "other devices"
like the attachment in post 15.........
you should right click uninstall the drivers with the mpvi connected and
then disconnect the mpvi for a few seconds.
Now start again on step 3 of instructions and you should be good to go !

Thanks for your help Bill !

After this I still got many a blue screen crash by hooking up to the car after the help bill gave me to load the drivers. Then after a crash all usb ports stopped working on this month old computer and dell could not get it restored so they replaced the mother and daughter board in my laptop. Then I reinstalled hpt and every thing seems to be working just fine now. I don't know what was up with all the blue screen crashes ?????????? But for now its up and running, Thanks Bill.
