Here we go again... (lingenfelter c5 twin turbo content)

I've decided to take the plunge into n00b territory after lurking for a while.

    I bought a 1999 lingenfelter twin turbo 650 c5 about a month ago. 12,000 original miles, car #004.

The car runs great, makes good power, and I am VERY impressed with how this car runs and drives.

    However...

There are a few spots in the mapping that I was disappointed in.

For instance, there is off throttle fuel flow on deceleration below 3000rpm, that causes a shudder under decel with some VERY mild, but noticeable bucking.

Also, anytime you go above about 75% throttle regardless of whether or not the turbos have spooled, the a/f goes 10.9, causing slow spool and a flat spot in acceleration.

Also, I would like the option to run E85, and a little more boost. Maybe 12-15lbs on occasion.

I removed the cats as they melted on me, so I also need to get rid of the rear O2 sensor codes to get rid of that annoying CEL

All of these things combined led me to turn to HP tuners.

I have experience tuning the Commander 950, 034EFI, and have played around with SDS, mega squirt, and DTA a little bit. All on boosted setups. However have not messed around with any of these computers in 5 or 6 years. I still have an original LC1 game boy style wideband. Lol

How does this system compare to the standalone systems listed above?

Any of you guys have experience tuning this specific setup?

I am anxious to get started, but am a little nervous about learning a new system on such an expensive and rare setup. I really don't want to melt this thing down. The cable and software will be here Monday.

I've tuned one of them. A customer of mine here in town has one. The Lingenfelter tune leaves a lot to be desired.

With increased boost, and a meth kit, we made over 600 rwhp. Drives like stock until you put the hammer down. I tuned it about 4 years ago, and it's still going stong, no problems.

I've tuned several of the standalones you mentioned. There is no comparison to tuning an OE controller. You'll always get better results using an OE controller versus a standalone. Some of the better standalones use WOT closed loop (I think even the MS2 does), but that's about the only advantage they have over a GM OE controller.

    Awesome!

Thats some damn good power. Yes the tune does have a bit to be desired.

I just had mine on the dyno and made 540 and 520 on a dyno that reads notoriously low.

Well last night I was messing with the dfco and completely jacked it up!

I went to load up the factory map, and it was corrupted! Damnit!!!

I just want the damn fuel off on decel Gah!
