    LNF Guide Videos

I thought of this today after watching a bmw dual vanos technology video and thought damn it would be cool to have something people can follow along with and/or start/stop as they please. it would have all the basic information for tuning an lnf and no more.

i got started with a few recordings and i would like some input from those on the site new and seasoned please so i can either make changes or find out if this was a waste of time. if it is a good idea i will add more videos.

Thanks to HPTuners for the wonderful tuning software and those who have contributed to the lnf's growth.

Thank you for your time. These videos are fantastic. I wish I'd had the MAF one when I was first working on that.

It's cool that the whole LNF tuning community is as open as it is.

Does the wastegate solenoid really get that hot if you leave the values high? Just trying to understand you reasoning behind that one.

Quick question, can I make an entire basic tune using these videos and be safe to drive?

    or

is there a little more to it?

Yea that's the point of the videos. To help guide people in making a safe basic tune. In the video I used an example of 275 for deals I think? Try starting at 255 to be safe and the rest will get you there.

ok i was doing good until the maf calibration lol.

so let me see if i got this straight, you cant calibrate it until AFTER you disconnect the evap sensor, make the base set to one, THEN you use the frequencies logged in the custom pids and plug those into the airload vs frequency and base graphs, write that, clear codes etc, and youre good to go?

also in the boost control video, under torque management -> turbocharger, boost control and desired boost settings werent explained which isnt a problem but i noticed my stock tune read the steady state at 20.0 kPa, prop gain s/s at 0.120, and pressure limit at 240kPa while cssob was 15.0kPa, 0.150, and 300kPa. is that just the difference between stock and gm stage or do i need to adjust my settings?

the only thing i can see, from my lack of knowledge, that would need to change is the pressure limit since the dal is set at 255kPa stock or higher when tuned, unless that has nothing to do with it.

    feel free to enlighten me.
