Hi,
I was reading here that to get the trans to respond to RPM only when in D (3) at WOT that one can set the WOT shift speed 1-2 and 2-3 to 0.
Makes sense, but does it work?
I'm wondering if it would completely foul up WOT downshift.

No, it really doesn't work well. Just spend the time finding the right MPH.

Good to know. Thanks.
I have one log of a run when the car actually shifted for me manually. So I know the MPH and the RPM where it shifted. How much offset works?
I was on street rubber, so I really couldn't use "D" for the runs as first gear was useless and it would have shifted early.
I could post that log if I knew how????

I found that setting mph about 3-5 under the actual rpm you want to command works well.

Well, according to logs from last evening, my C5 is shifting by mph.
These were the first runs with drag radials and enough traction to floor it out of the hole.
I moved rpm around and it didn't care.

I seem to have better luck with the MPH. Mine pretty much ignores the RPM.

I like mine to be triggered by RPM. Both mph and rpm have to be triggered for it to shift. So I set my mph 3-5 under what it really should shift at and then let it shift once it hits the rpm I want.

I zero out the WOT shift MPH and use just RPM, works like a champ.

Ok. I'm going to try it.
BTW, what car do you have? Mine is a C5 vette and have read that they might be different?
Thanks.

You have a 6L80E? I have only seen it work on 4L60/80E's

My problem figuring out how to set my trans up is the fact that i can not floor my car until i get into 3rd gear without spinning. Im making around 700 to the tires right now. My first issue i had to figure out was that whenever i rolled into the throttle the trans was trying to down shift. I got that figured out pretty easily but now my 1>2 shift is feeling like it is slipping. I cant go over 20-30% throttle without spinning in 1st. So should i just up my pressures to max at anything over 20% in any gear? The trans holds the power just fine when it is in gear, but i have to let off to let it shift other wise its bouncing off the rev limiter until i let off.
