drag strip: to lock or unlock tcc ?

I'm sure I seen a thread here a long while back about this, but can't find.
4T45E and curious to hear what you guys think about locking converter in third at the strip ?

Or point me in the direction of this thread I thought I saw once.
Thanks for your help and reply !

I know I dont have the same car or transmission as you, but I gained a solid 2mph by locking my converter after the 1/8 mile. I also have a 4200 stall converter lol

Some converters dont like being locked at WOT, and will slip. (burn the TCC clutch)

Make sure yours can be locked!!

Next thing is that depending on the power level, it can break parts. EX: Broken drum shaft in GN when locking at 2nd gear shift. It shifted so hard it snapeed a shaft.

So the answer is yes you can loock it and get gains, but at what price?
