No spark advance map modification effect

please I need help
if i modify the spark advance map I have no effect in reading the spark advance running with VCMscanner

I have a v6 3.5 with a E38 and I modify the base map high octane, is it the wrog map to modify?

there is typically a high and a low octane table, if the ecm is seeing KR it will typically put you in the low octane table so it kind of depends on the knock retard being seen as to which table it will reference.

thaks for your answer I already verified there is no Knocking, and I even tried to make low octane map identical to high octane, I think it could depend (since it is a swap) that I've not VSS connected, and problably the ecu look for a idle map or a coasting map .........
is it possible to make it use the right map without Vss?

I've tried to put all correction tables to zero but no effect! alvaws 24? at high revs!!!!!!!! the gear read is 1? even and zero speed since no VSS is installed and gearbox is manual even if a TCM is connected to make the pcm works

Please Help me
