    Could not upload to car

    Keith,

Today, I was going to do a few changes to a 1999 Camaro Z28.

I downloaded the file just fine. I made the changes and saved the file.

When I went to upload the file, the computer would take it. It said somthing like "Boot Loader failed" or something like that. It also told me to save the INFO which I did.

I used this cable before on a 1999 Pontiac TA and it worked fine.

The thing is, I can't try it again since the owner lives in Toledo and I live in Columbus OH, about 150-175 miles apart.

    What went wrong?

Re: Could not upload to car

Thanks Bill, it really helps when users send us the VCM Info logs like we request in our error messages.

What happened is the PCM you where trying to write was not loaded into our database. We have safety measures in place to make sure proper communication protocols are used for that particular PCM. If we notice anything off-color, we do not attempt to write the PCM as a safety precaution. We'd rather not write the PCM at all than risk leaving a customer stranded.

You did nothing wrong, don't worry.

Re: Could not upload to car

So what does it really mean? I won't be able to upload to certain cars? :huh2:

What fix is there? Please be somewhat technical.

Re: Could not upload to car

Bill, please forward your vcm suite info log directly to me so I can take a look at it.

This problem is very rare. What it means though is if you ever do run into this problem, you will not be able to upload to that car until you let us know of the error so we can correct and send you out new software.

You are the very first user of our V8 product to come across this error fyi.

Bill, i take it the error you recieved was:

    Bill:

I've been using this package for some time now. If you have any other questions and/or issues, I can probably help you out at the COCGP meeting tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I can make it (Kelly should be there) cuz my cousin and his family will be in town, but maybe we'll swing by real quick.

HP Tuner is very close to LS1 Edit. If I stop by tomorrow, I'll show you the F-Body version, you'll be amazed, Chris Green was!
