i picked up another 98 pcm and after i licensed it and save a stock hpt file i renamed it to another one so i was able to compare and transfer my settings from my original tune over to this one. once i completed that i then did a calibration only(is that correct as you only do a full write if doing parameters like going from a4L60 to a $l80 or from 1 bar to 2 bar correct?). it finished and i heard the fuel pump primed. i turned the key to off and waited a few seconds then i turned the key to accel on and heard the fuel pump for a split second, meaning the pcm was bricked. i confirmed that and turned to ON and it just cranked. pulled the DTC and once again its P0601 code. was i suppose to had done a full write the first time and a calibration only after that going forward? if so, then i am to blame on lack of reading the how-to flash tune to the pcm correctly. if not then im lost
looks like i'll be looking for another 98 pcm for the time being. does anyone know if a Tech II can remove and revert the pcm back to its original/factory tune so i could try again????
