Using the Factory ECU to control the trans only?
I have been using HPTuners for my car but have switched to the FAST for the added Nitrous controls, but am thinking about still using the factory ecu to control the trans. The car is an 02 Firebird with a 4l80e. Another reason I would like to keep the ecu is so that a lot of other things will work in the car such as the dash! Has anybody done this? If so I would like some info on how many inputs I have to keep to make the trans operate correctly. Such as tps, tach??? Thanks

keep the factory harness hooked up normal and just tap into the wires you need
set the ecu into forced open loop
disable all fueling so it doesn't fire the injectors
disable the idle air control valve
disable the ecu spark output
i probably missed something but you get the idea
