    application key, credits, 3rd hand owner

    this is my first post as im new to HP tuners and and tuning. I picked up MPVI Pro from my cousin and im the 3rd owner of this. No software disc came w it and was told I can download it from here. I see on the main page where to go to download it and get to the point of where I enter s/n and application code and seems I receive the application code after purchasing credits. Question is how do I know how many credits to buy?
