VCM Editor doesnt open in Windows 8.1

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8 and now VCM Editor doesn't open correctly. VCM Scanner opens just fine, I havent tested to see if it works when connected to a vehicle yet.

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling VCM Suite with no luck. Tried the settings for Compatibility Mode for W7/W8, Run as Admin, and Run in low DPI with no luck.

It appears in the taskbar as a blank window, but you cannot actually open the application. Please let me know how I can help fix it if possible.

    does the scanner open?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

No, I tried that as well plus used all the compatibility modes, Run as Admin, etc. No luck.

All it does is show the icon in the taskbar like it's open/trying to open, but no screen ever appears.

likely need to look into it further once we get into beta in that case, might be something to do with netframeworks or something.

Im running 8.1 RTM as well, it worked fine in 8 before I upgraded to 8.1 RTM.

I'm planning on doing a FnR on this laptop next week, if another user is able to have it open then it might be an issue with this machine...

Ok resolved the issue, I can open VCM Editor in 8.1 RTM. BUT there is still an outstanding issue here that can cause VCM Editor to "not" open. This is on my laptop which I use a second monitor frequently when at work and home.

Reproduction steps to cause this issue: Open VCM Editor and move the window to the second screen, then close the application and disconnect the monitor. Upon reopening VCM Editor, it will not correctly move to the primary screen yet it will appear in the taskbar (as I noted in the first post of this thread). I did not have this issue in Windows 8, VCM Editor would move correctly back to the primary screen.
