    any ideas on why my compter shuts off on me?

    i log for like 5 min and the damn thing just dies. battery indicator says its full. are you guys using the cig lighter for power supply? if so where can i get one of them things. im using a compaq armada (i think)

    I use a portable jump starter...it has a cig. lighter outlet on it. Take my power inverter, plug into said cig lighter, plug comp. into the inverter, and it works great! I usually log for about 1.5 hours at a time.

    Inverters can be found anywhere (Wal-Mart), but I would not run it through the cig lighter due to the small wiring. Hard wire it to the battery if you are gonna use it like that. The way I do it, I don't have to worry about that.

    Settings>Control Panel >Power Options, probably doing
    the shut down disks, go to sleep deal because there is
    no "activity" (keyboard).

    Wal-Mart near me has cig lighter inverters as does AutoZone.
    If your car has an underdrive pulley and a marginal charging
    voltage at idle, though, you may bounce it in & out of low-
    line cutout and hurt your hardware
