Well guys, it runs. despite my testing, it turned out to be the crank position sensor. I feel stupid for not just replacing it in the beginning, because I hate believing that brand new sensors can be bad, but this one was. Thank you for everyone's help.
Did you ever get a crank positioning sensor error? I'm currently fighting something similar with a VVT swap. Injectors have power but won't fire. I'm not getting any codes for anything other than the cam actuator (disabled) and the usual emmisions which I deleted as well. I've checked with a NOID light and the injectors won't fire. It's an E38 ECM. From what I've read in a couple of places I've seen issues with VATS not completely disabling even though it says Disabled in HPT. I've tried dozens of writes (full, VATS, etc). Grounds are all good, power is all good. At a loss.
I did, once, get the CKP code. I cleared it and never got it again over several days of debugging. I originally expected it to be a symptom, not the cause.
a crank senor will seldom set a code with a no start. IT will usually only set the code if it was running, then died, even then can be hit or miss if it sets a code. The crank sensor self check requires the motor to be turning or running, if it isn't working, it doesn't know its spinning, therefore cannot perform a self check,

I'm still fighting this one. Only code is the cam actuator. (Which was bypassed and going straight to cam sensor)
