    speed limiting vehicles

i have a customer that wants to limit the speed of all vehicles to 75mph. it is a fleet of 80 gm pickups ranging from 98-13.

i just want to know how the pcm's handle limits differently

ie the vortecs i don't remember if they have a speed limit or not.

will the manual throttle body v8's like hitting a rev limiter or timing retard etc.

the flyby wires do they just level off throttle or do something different.

this is not something i do for business but on personal vehicles and just wondering if it is doable, another shop quoted them $300 per vehicle and i am sure i can do it about half the cost on the vehicles it can be done to.

    i have a list of vehicles. 2 vortecs 15 01-06 12 07's and 49 08-13's.

in 2007 is gen 3/4 determined by body style or something else this will affect credit distribution and or tunershop license, also 40 2014 when they come in.

Most of the applications just do a fuel cut for the speed limiter if I remember correctly.

You can download & install our software from our home page www.hptuners.com which comes with about a dozen sample stock files for you to view, this will show you exactly what you can edit for these applications.

I know with my 98 LS1 camaro v8 when it hit the speed limiter it was pretty violent so I'm pretty sure its a fuel cut in all of these applications.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
