    Tuner Locked ECM

A friend of mine has a 99 Vette that has been tuner locked and he wants me to tune his car!!. I have Gen III tuner shop and need to know what option we have other than taking the car to the dealer (cost to much) to reflash the ECM to stock.

I have no problem with going back to stock and starting over, but what is the process if any that I can do to achieve this?

bring it back to the origonal tuner and have the unlock it and flash it back to stock...thats what I did.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Also, the dealer won't be able to flash the PCM to stock.

you can also get an eprom reader/writer made for the little intel chip in the pcm..desolder it...erase...write new....put it back in....
little bit of a pain in the ass...but If my memory recalls theres a post on here or on ls1tech somewhere about what you would need as I know I asked about it at one time..I think when I looked aroud I eneed up deciding that it would have been about $120ish total...and it was probably smarter and easier to just go get a new pcm or a used one somewhere and just use it if need be..LOL

yeah i picked up a used pcm for $50 from a salvage yard, just make sure it comes from the year/make that you have a license for.

I thought you could "write entire" and make any old
(compatible hardware) PCM your bitch? With a proper
stock bin file, at least? Not so?

nope, to read or write a properly locked PCM you have to unlock it first.
