$400.00 to Run 3bar OS??? this cant be right.

So a vehicle came into my shop with a locked pcm. finally got it unlocked after sending his PCM out and paying for the service. Now that the PCM was unlocked I was able to license it but the current tune on the vehicle was 2BAR OS. So I payed the $200 to get into the PCM and make the car driveable. I needed to be on the 3bar OS since this is what the new config was but the only option I was given was to license the 2BAR when I hooked up.

Now tech support is telling me if I don't have the stock original file (which I don't) I need to pay another $200 and grab a stock bin from the repository and license that which im not even sure how that's going to work since ill be basically licensing some random VIN I got off the repository and not the VIN to the vehicle in my shop. Am I really SOL here? I find this hard to believe. Ive already spent over $200 with licensing the the vin with the 2bar (already installed) OS and to have the thing unlocked too! I need help. lol This guy is ready to burn his car to the ground after the headaches from his previous tuner.

If you already know who the previous owner is why not just get the stock file from them?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

You should only need to spend another $100 to flash a stock file with the correct vin. When you read that back out, you should be able to convert that read file to a 3 bar for free.

the current PCM is outta a 2002 transam, I do have a license 2002 transam file from a different car ive tuned but I wasn't sure if it was as easy as just flashing a stock file with correct vin.
