    MAP sensor question

    Hi guys,

    I have been having a couple of issues with my map sensor dropping out at 24psi.
    Can anyone confirm that you can go higher then that on the standard map sensor.
    As far as I am aware that the standard sensor is an absolute 250kpa sensor.

    Has anyone moved up to a 3 bar sensor to run higher boost?(Is it even possible?)

    You can go higher, but you will have maxed the sensor. Once you have maxed the sensor the car will not be able to to read the increased load so you'll need to turn accordingly. TMap calibration is the holy grail. HPT doesn't have it (Eric was working on it a while back) SCT doesn't have it either. One private tuner (who apparently developed his own tuning software has stated he has it mapped.

    I have to wait until 2.25 is released before I can add them.

    How far away is 2.25??
    Really want to put a 3 bar sensor in it.
    No pressure...
    I have got my territory down to less then 3% long terms until I go over the 255kpa.
    Long terms hit 15 to 20% once over the threshold.

    Lol... I looks like a standard Ego territory turbo.

    Hopefully it gets a fair time.
    I know that the gearbox is up for a rebuild but I will run it anyways.
    I want to sort out the 4th gear change before I head to the track.

    bugsy, excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by this?

    From my old logs my STFT hit 26% around 200kpa but that is the desired lambda that Fords put into the STFT when running out of closed loop (1-.26 = 0.74 which is the lambda I have set for up high to compensate for the LPG injector fall off in flow up top). The LTFT were 0 once out of closed loop.

    With 24psi you should have a real chance of knocking off TOOOGO's Territory time of "11.2@122 mph with a 1.66 60 ft" which he ran with 404awkw and 19psi (factory turbo). So as Jet says "u should get damm close".

    Way to go bugsy, good luck and when are you running it?

    Hey Darryl
    I had been playing with the open loop tps threshold.
    One of the logs that I had done show the Map sensor hitting 255kpa then dropping out then.
    LTFT went high.
    I will set up it again and try to do it again.
    Hoping to run it this week end coming Darryl.
    Just got to work out what I changed to get it to stall up to 3000rpm with out turning the tires.(Brakes and hand brake don't hold it)

    If hasn't had a built trans previously and it isn't shifting 3-4th at WOT you might be trying to tune around a mechanical issue Biugsy

    Hey Eric, have you allocated any time to work on re-scaling the t-map sensor? I'm throwing some more boost at my car in the next couple of weeks and at 3-4 bar sensor would come in handy?
