Using 2014 mustang timing tables on 2014 f150

while the 5.0 mustang is lighter and has 420 hp to 5.0n f150 360 hp...running 93 octane fuel would using the mustang timing tables be a good start for aggressive timing on the f150 the engine is basically the same on the truck , I think intake cams are slightly smaller and the exhaust is a lot more restrictive on the f150. my truck is a regular cab short wheel base with 4.10 gears and offroad y-pipe

I think he is asking if it's possible to copy and paste the timing tables from a Mustang Coyote ECU to his F150 ECU with the Coyote motor.

Bluntly, no. You should not just copy and paste. There are a bunch of variables like the one you mentioned, OP, such as the cams profile and cam timing. The differences in those and the exhaust, valve size and overall flow of the motor changes how it will react to different timing. You're going to want to increase timing slowly (after all other variables are tuned) to get the results you might be looking for. You can use the way the Coyote in a Mustang is timed to get an idea on how to increase it and where a good ramp in might be, but again, it will be a little different than a Mustang because of the differences mentioned.

Don't cheap out and copy/paste. Do it right.

not cheaping out but there is not a definitive manual on how to tune the ford coyote,I am not a true tuner except for my stuff I haven't done any tuning(08 corvette, 14 mustang and 14 f150). I've read that even the factory mustang 5.0 timing is fairly aggressive I was thinking it would work for a f150... as there are very few differences

use the track or the dyno to see if your mph increases with more timing or your tq/hp output does, respectively.

I was wondering the same thing actually. I recently got a 2017 f150 5.0 I have watched some youtube videos of gm 6.0 engine swaps, swapping timing tables say from a GTO to the 6.0 truck motors and or vans.

This is a super old thread, but the replies remain the same...log and calibrate the car accordingly...
