and still no luck on a 13 challenger 6.4L.

Okay. Since 13/14 doesn't have write support yet, just hang tight. Once we finalize support for Chrysler 2013/2014 the issue will hopefully be fixed in the process.

We don't need anymore reads as far as development goes, but if you are planning on tuning the vehicle once 13/14 support is complete, feel free to read it and sent it in.

I think it would be interressting to have the models list which we can access to the TCM and transmission settings too

Hey Mark, I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6 (Pentastar), and just tried to read it using the latest beta (per your message in the other thread that it's ready.)

It doesn't auto-recognize the VCM, but if I manually select type "GPEC2" per your note in the first post, it seems to complete a read (about 10 minutes), but then gives me an error "Validate checksum failed. You will be unable to save or flash this file."

A 2nd window then comes up "Definition failed to load. You will be unable to edit this file." It does save a file of some kind, but if I try to load it, I get the same errors.

I also tried GPEC2a and GPEC2b, and they won't even finish. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, and why I can't read?

    Thanks.

It does save a file, but later if you try to open it

You need to read it as a GPEC2 and e-mail it to support. It gives you an error because your file isn't supported yet.

^^Exactly, your operating system hasn't been mapped out yet. If you email the file to support I can get it supported

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Theres more 08 to 2012 that need tuning than the newer 14s and 15s. I know everybody wants there tuning support, I understand. Just seems more older that are willing to
jump in and mod. Myself in 09 I bought my Challenger new. Within a week I had a stall. In 6 months a blower and SHR trans. Away I went.
Great to see all this coming around.
    Cheers, FlatTop

What if the software recognizes it as the wrong controller and we cannot choose the correct type as it has been recognized?

What is the scenario? What year/make/model is it? What is it identifying as and what should it be identifying as?

Try to close the read utility, select "Read Vehicle" again and then do not select "Gather Info," just select "Read," it should then allow you to select the controller you think you need.

I still need to know what the issue is. I need to correct it if its a problem. There are a few outliers that don't quite fit my mold in the original post so it may not actually be an issue. i.e. In 2011, there were still a small amount of Jeep Wranglers using NGC4. That's why typically if VCM Editor identifies the PCM type, it should just be read as such.

I did that and it will not let me select as it recognizes it and there is no drop down menu to select myself when it recognizes it. I would be in better shape if it did not recognize it for sure.

What is the application? Year/Make/Model? What the controller is identifying as, what it should identify as?

Its a NGC4 controller in a 2010 Jeep that originally had a V6. The vin is the V6 but the operating system is the NGC4 V8.
