Hey guys, anyone else do offboard programming?
Having a new issue with GM Service Programming System on E37 computers. When I enter a VIN and go to program, it brings up "M6413: Off-board Programming Detected", with an OK button only, and it simply returns to the beginning screen. Looks like GM is "cracking down" on off-board programming, for what reason I don't know, but this could be an increasing problem.
Anyone else having this issue or can suggest a work around?
Looks that way. I talked to support today and they said its always been in the user agreement, no off-board programming, just now they are enforcing it. I'm glad my SPS subscription is up this month, but now gotta figure out other means of programming these modules...Originally Posted by Overkill
For liability reasons GM its doing all they can to keep everything out of aftermarket hands. Market strategy too!

2. bring in similar year car
3. plug ecm into car
4. profit!?
Or have laptop will travel for profit
What is "offboard programming"?
I get this on 2010+ Serv# 12633238 E38's. The 07-09 E38's work ok. There has to be a work around, maybe install a BCM?
