Arrow New Users: Help files and Demos

    Help Files:
Please take a moment to review the help file as alot of common questions
can be answered from it. Also, check back after every software update as
new content is being added all the time.

You can open the help file at any time in the Editor or Scanner by
pressing 'F1'. It will take you to the section of the help file that relates
to what is currently open in the scanner or editor.

Example: If you have the spark advance section open in the editor and
press F1 it will take you the the spark advance section of the help file.

Note: At this time if you have the help file open by hitting F1 you will not
be able to switch back to the scanner or editor until you close the help
    file.

Current Users can also access it direct outside of the program by:
Start->programs-> HP Tuners-> 'VCM Suite Help'
...this would be your best option if you want to use the scanner and/or
editor at the same time as the help file as you will be able to switch back
    and forth as you please.

Future HPT Users can Download it here (right-click, save-as):
    http://www.hptuners.com/pub/VCM Suite.chm

If you download the help files but cannot view them in Windows XP:
Right click the VCM suite.chm file and click properties. On the general tab look to see if there is button that says "unlock", click the button to unlock the file, then double click to open the file and it should open.

You can also view the help files online:
    http://www.hptuners.com/help

    Demos:

    Bill,

Would you please update the 1998 F-Body gear change demo. GM uses 24.9 as the stock tire dia. This applies to both a 245/50/16 or a 275/40/17 tire. A lot of people are using the advertised/measured tire dia when changing gears or tires.
This then causes no wot upshifts and inaccurate speedos.

I'll get it updated asap, again the demo is a general demo. People do occasionally change their tire size as well

Maybe something that talks about the DOD on the LS4 cars? Since I am new to all of this, I have read everything I Could, but I am still lost as to what I should change once I get my tuner. I was thinking that since alot of people have the LS4 with DOD, they want to know if the best thing is to keep it or disable it and then the best way to tune an LS4 car.

For liability reasons I really can't get into showing you how to tune things like that. That is what this forum is for...so you can test, tune & share your experiences with each other.

OK, I have 2 things to say. 1. Wow the demos are great and 2. Would it be possible to do a demo of a start to finish tune on a new set up...wether it be a cam, head/cam, stroker, turbo...whatever the mods are but requires a from the top tune, showing step by step?

    Just a thought.

BTW, I tried to attend one of those classes but being in the military ended up being gone during the class and lost my hundred dollar deposit. Not upset about the deposit...upset that I had to miss the class, would have been a great start for me.

    1. Thanks Both Scott & I worked very hard on them
    2. No, with support of dozens of different pcm's and probably over 1000 different operating systems each different from the next it would be impossible to do one for each of those operating systems. And how to tune a cam, heads/cam, stroker, turbo, SC, would each require their own demo your talking 5000+ demo's, sorry but that isn't going to happen, also it becomes a liability for us to tell you how to tune, because if theres something incorrect in the demo(or even if its correct) & for some reason you pop your motor you can come back claiming well this is how you told us to tune & it blew my motor.
    Just a thought.
