www.hptuners.com/help has a step by step in using standalone datalogging, you should start there.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

For standalone to work, the USB connection must be unplugged.

    Bill,

Should standalone data logging now also work for the Gen 4/5 Viper guys, or are we still SOL due to the unique PCM in those cars?

I wrote down the instructions, looked at the video and did the procedure 4 times. Still no stand alone data logging. Pressed and held record several times, no luck.
I have done this before and it was working fine. I even did the download again. Here is my config file--pretty simple. Tell me if you see something wrong.
Looks like I am the only one having problems.
    Thanks

Standalone datalogging only works on some GM vehicles, no ford, no dodge. Theres a good chance it never will be available for ford/dodge.

Has anyone had success with standalone data logging and the latest firmware and the late E38s? I am just getting the flashing error lights on 2012 C6 that I have done numerous times.

Yes, multiple customers tested it before we released it. If you still run into an issue email support.

Hello. For the purposes of reliability and security, I'm still working the old version 2.24, which was before the update http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...*ANNOUNCEMENT* - **
Now, due to the need to work with the new car, forced to version 3.0, which will only work with version 118 MPVI (as I understand).
In connection with this question to those who updated the above 2.24.1080+ 2.25.1805+ and accordingly MPVI to 118 version. Do you still have some problems with these updated versions 2.24.1070 relatively old? Should I do the update?

The firmware update that comes with V3 will only work with the latest version of 2.24. Previous versions of 2.24 are not compatible. I don't know the version # offhand but it sounds like you're already aware of this. Using the updated firmware + latest version of 2.24 should behave exactly as you're used to; I never had any issues using this combination

Of course the new V3 scanner is something new you'll have to learn.

Some people have had good luck with re-naming the directory that their 2.24 HPT installation is in (C:, program files (x86), HP Tuners). Then when they install V3 it installs to the "default" directory and you end up with both versions installed at the same time. If you do not do this, installing V3 WILL REMOVE 2.24 entirely.

I have not personally tried this but I would make sure that A. you have the latest version of 2.24 so that you can go back to it if you have to and B. make a backup of all of your config files. In fact I would just make a copy of your whole My Documents-->HP tuners directory along with all config files, etc. just to be sure you have them if you need them.
