Thread: VCM Scanner 2.25 Beta Now Available

  1. #581
Yes. I found that little popup now. Not sure why when someone asked the question that piece of info was not given. I just saw a red circle and figured it didn't work.
You can't make it large enough to view the whole MAF scale on a laptop. Maybe on my big screen TV :-)
Scroll bars are one thing. I'm sure they will add them. But whats up with the graph starting over again every time you change your view from Average to Last to Count etc?
Does everyones scroll so excruciatingly slow? It's almost impossible to use this way.

They've stated they left the scroll bars out by design. I asked the same this morning..

I agree.. it should at least stay in the same view when you change from A/C/+/-

If you change how fast keys repeat on your keyboard I think it will speed it up. Go to control panel, find keyboard settings (different places depending on OS) and change the "repeat rate" to as high as it will go. It's worth a shot anyways.

I can go to one end of a VE table to the other in a few seconds, so it does sound like yours is going awfully slow

    New beta up.

This has scroll bars for the Graph display.

The Plot vs Time (Chart) now requires left click of the mouse to move the cursor. This will let you slide your cursor to a specific frame and not lose that frame when you scroll off the chart. It also prevents you from accidentally changing your selected frame if you accidentally scroll over the chart.

I've also improved the mouse wheel up/down detection. Mouse wheel should change your zoom even if you haven't clicked the Chart.

Crashed when trying to open a 2.24 log. I sent in the error report

I just want my +/- zoom buttons

I like the scroll bars better personally. It's not as clean looking, but I think it works better.

The keyboard commands for zooming in/out in chart vs. time window (buttons was a poor choice of wording)

I think I like the way the cursor is setup now.. i.e. having to click to move it.

Are you doing all these changes yourself or having employees do them?

+/- zoom in/out should be working. I do a lot of the front end stuff, as well as the low level library stuff. Some of the other engineers fill in the guts that make things work, like VCM Controls.

    Gotcha.

Does it matter if I'm using +/- at the top of the regular keyboard vs. on the number pad? I'm on a laptop so don't have a number pad

I'm on a MacBook running HPT in VMWare, so it's possible that's why it isn't working as expected. Some of the keyboard differences do weird things sometimes. I'll try on my desktop on Monday

The graph starts moving to the left and higher numbers to the right become visible. This makes sense. I was going to time how long it took to move from 0Hz to12,000Hz but I gave up after 30 seconds. It was only up to about 8500 Hz. at that point. SLOW is an understatement.
Same here, when I copy fuel trims starting at the 1800 HZ cell and the visible table ends at 5850 HZ, so as Andy states, the table is really slow moving to the left as I copy up to the 10,000 HZ cell.

Post a log, and a layout, and I'll try to duplicate it on my end.

Hi Keith, attached is a graph layout that I just set up to look at a 2.24 log file. As my FJO wideband isn't supported yet, just try & copy the ST Fuel trim graph (all zeros), starting with the 1800 HZ cell. Then see how slow the graph moves to the left. I know I can copy the entire graph by clicking on the far left corner. But there are a lot of times that I just want to select a portion of the graph.

Plus I notice alot of times if you select the entire table and copy with axis, you get a crash as well...its ok if you do just a copy (data only). An example of that is the MAF table I set up for a 2013 Camaro I am worling on....

If you post the log, layout, and exact steps to duplicate the crash, we can fix it.

Scroll bars helped a lot. Thanks.
Still jumps back to the low end of the table every time you change from A to L to C etc. That would be a nice fix to get rid of that.

    Question:

When setting up a PID in the hart vs. time display I see a "filter" field that is in milliseconds.

    What does this do?
