Thread: Flex fuel

  1. #141
I'm also noticing on my 2017 the ECM 21320 - Flex Fuel Ehtanol % vs. AFR is all 14.6 on the left, on the F150 it's 9.0 and 14.6 on the bottom. Is this causing an issue?

Where as my 2017 looks like this:

This seems like it could be the problem. Any ideas?

That will cause a problem. That's the main lookup table for calculating ethanol content. On the row axis is the stoich AFR and the value is the reference ethanol content. Having this 9.0 100% and 14.6 0% tells the computer to calculate ethanol based on a linear relationship between these two points.

Any idea on how to fix this, or what I can do?

Interestingly enough this table isn't in the 15, or 16 mustang file either and people appear to be having success with them. Am I missing something?

It's in there unless I'm confused by what I'm looking at. Post your tune or email it to me at [email protected]

What I should say is the table is there, but the entire axis is just 14.6, there is no 9. So there's no Air-Fuel ratio for ethenal in that 21320 - Flex Fuel Ethanol % Vs AFR table.

I shot that over as well.

I responded to your email with a screenshot for how to change it.

I've been watching and haven't see the new tables yet. I'm guessing they will make a post about it when they fix it since so many people need this but hard to tell.

Eric had replied to me about it and asked me to email support. Since I had a open ticket with Corey for this issue already already I went ahead and emailed him

    - HPT info log
    - Copy of tune
    - Copy of datalog
    - Image with labels showing the issue(attached to this post as well)
    - Images of Eric's post telling me to email support

I'm hoping they can add the table(s) so I can get this taken care. This was is on e75 and is seeing 0-.5* of spark advance while under load(any load). During decel timing will jump up to normal, but anytime the pedal is pressed it will lock itself back in "Cold start emission red..."

I added the vertical lines to help show where the mode changes...notice the curve straight down as it entered "cold start emission red..."? the log is full of those curves...only time spark goes up is during decel, even during WOT it was commanding 0*. The curves seem short because I was going over multiple speed bumps at the time.

Tables are added to this morning's build. Please let us know if this does not correct the issue.

I went ahead and moved my values from the "Drive/Neutral" tables into the "Drive/Neutral Alcohol" tables and the issue is resolved The car no longer locks itself to "Cold Start Retard Red..."

Anyone having this issue update to the recent build and populate those tables accordingly, mine are set to 50 since commanded spark will always be lower than the maximum allowed(50 in my case)
