in order to working on such cams you need to do the following:

    Neaural network to be bypassed
    camphaser disabled
    rescale your fueling
adjust a bunch of idle control and airflow tables
    adjust misfire counters
    tune your VE

    ect...

That is a terrible cam for an NA 5.7. It raises the power band out of the usable range and on a 4200# street car its about worthless. If they want a big peak dyno number however.....that is your cam. BTW, its annoying to try to tune in a 5.7 even locked out phaser tuning kinds sucks.

    Thanks for chiming in!

We worked on tuning ours yesterday for a good couple hours prior to attempting any Dyno Tuning. It'll start up with some pedal and idle for a good while on it's own before it starts to idle hunt and eventually swing so high and low that it dies out.

I've adjusted all the DTCs as I would in normal GM tuning but this one (2015 392 Car) has not responded as I'd expected it to. My goal is to get it to start up and idle with zero assist from the driver or accelerator pedal before putting it on the dyno.

Called Josh at HHP this morning and talked with him for a bit but they don't use HP Tuners at all. He was great and offered some of his thoughts but there are just a few too many differences in the terms between their SCT/Diablo methods and our HPT tables.

I'm sure somebody has used HPT to tune the 392 with the 274VVT Camshaft. Be great to compare and see where else I can focus some attention on to get the results we'd like to see.

Here's where I'm at with it as of today:

This one isn't locked. Sent it up to the fellas at HP to have them unlock the board and I can tune it. Trouble is that, like you mentioned, it almost seems like the exact results no matter what changes I make in the flash.

I do know that it's taking some of the changes but even the most simple...like idle....isn't as responsive as it is in any other vehicle I've ever worked with. Always seems to hunt around 1100.

I can say that disabling the Neural Network got me in the right direction. Now at least the car will start up on its own without any pedal.....at least every once in a while.

We'll keep at it. I would like to be able to do more Dodge work but only if it's rational.

In order to view/edit/write 2015 Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM files your interface must be authorized to do so. We typically only authorize your MPVI once you have sent in a PCM for modification. This helps prevent accidental licenses/writes to the PCM without having the PCM modification done first.

Makes sense now that folks can't see my upload. Eh...we'll I'll leave it up for future reference to help those in their quest for knowledge.

Are there not any 2014 and down 6.4 Cars out there with this 274 VVT Camshaft that have used HPT to calibrate the car? Seems to be a pretty popular stick on these rigs so I'd expect to see alot more coming in the future.

    Thanks Mark for chiming in!

Im not help as Im learning. having issues with my 5.7 HemiJK swap. started once, and after turning it off wouldn't start again. Found its fouling my plugs by dumping fuel, plugs are soaked.
but, I was able to open your file. so not sure why others cant.

I have a comp VVT 270 in my 5.7. It has head work, gears and exhaust done. It is an M6. I had a custom tune done for it that I copied to HPT. It uses NN off. I'll try to post the tune up when I get home from work. I do intend on turning NN back on and tuning the vehicle in the near future.
