Question senior moment . Ls1 stock VE & timing tables 98-00 vs 01-02. what to use after swap?

i feel a dumb asking this but just did a cam swap and a 411 pcm swap to a 98 bird and has a 02 camaro/firebird (156) file. Car has stock 98 engine, 806 heads,ls1 (egr)intake, 1 3/4s headers ory and now the mentioned cam above is a 231/234

my question is what VE and Timing tables to use as a base to start tuning ? do i benefit from the 98 timing that seems a lot more aggressive than other years using this bumpstick? or ill better stick to the safer 02 table. also ve shape is totally different in the 98-00 than the 01-02 bigger ls6 intake equipped cars... is it just the intake that changes everything? i think year after year calibrators fix and upgrade some things and being a ls1 intake car i can stick with a '00 file numbers. what do you think ?

Since you already had it tuned for the cam use the 98 VE table and timing so it will run correctly and tweak from there.

the STOCK 98 file or the STOCK 02 file? , car has not been tuned yet, zero.i want to know which calibration is better ground to start with.

    i will rephrase que question

i have a 98 car with a new cam, do i benefit from the 02 calibration to start tuning? it has a lot of differences on basically the same engine/sensors with another intake.

lol.....I would go with the 02 as it is more compatible with the PCM. Also I always liked the 02 timing table, use it alot as a starter table. The 98 file/PCM are very archaic compared to the newer and more powerfuly 0411 PCM.

Never really gave it much thought, but yeah I guess the manifold and the 78 to 85mm TB made them breathe a bit better.

Thank you for the props on the site. really excited about this venture and have several customers already. Also some exciting news is coming in a bit......:-)
