that would be my guess too...
too much resistance thru one of my wires... maybe HPT is less picky.. who knows..
glad it's over!
hope the OP is all set too, didn't mean for my post to take over his thread!
I still cannot get 2010+ ECM's to take a cal over my benchtop setup, mongoose and SPS. I need to try it with a BCM.

Tried adding a BCM tonight, still did not work, in fact I could not program the BCM either. Going to try an MDI tomorrow. Maybe someone with a working system can post up what wires are being used in your benchtop system to get this to work?

What error do you get?
Something not right. I do lots of them with no issues, with a MDI on the bench. If you have access to SPS, then you have access to wiring diagrams. ...Start there
I have a BCM from a 2007.5 Silverado. This p/n interchanges up to 2011. I have it wired as such:
C1 P2 ignition 12v
C3 P3 12v batt
C3 P5 ground
C3 P8 CAN +
C3 P 9 CAN -
I have 60 ohms across my CAN bus with the BCM and ECM connected

Ok the madness continues!! I now have a BCM, ECM and instrument cluster all hooked up, high speed LAN, and low speed still not working with the Mongoose! Going to try an MDI tomorrow.

man... if you feel like driving to Saginaw, you can use my benchtop setup..
once I bought the eficonnection pro benchtop setup, all my weird problems went away

it made no sense, all the wires were the same.. but it all works now so I quit trying to figure it out
FWIW, I use a Mongoose and SPS too
MDI usage did not work out. The tech I know with one was reluctant to let me try it with his PC and I did not have the proper drivers for it. I now have added a TCM to the mix and it still doesn't work.

A question to ask is aside from Dsteck, how long ago did you guys have success? From the probes I have put out into the industry this a recent thing within the last 10 months.

Programmed an E67 with 2011 VIN today stand alone. No issues with MDI and SPS.
As for BCM programming, the BCM I used did need the Communication Enable Relay Control wire attached to allow the BCM to take a program.
In your BCM wiring look at Pin #19 on the X3 connector. I think you have the same BCM I use at times.

Radrace, how do you hook up the comm enable wire? 12v?

Ok I now can get past the off board programming prompt, but need to enter a security code to change the cal. Any ideas?
I installed a Ign 12v on the comm enable, connected the serial wake up wire from E38 to BCM, and installed a ground at J4 P9 on the BCM.

I've only had the security code prompt come up once when trying to program an E38 ECM that had already been programmed with a Global-A platform calibration.
I've never had that prompt when programming any other new E38, E67, BCM, or TeCHM

I got the security prompt when trying to turn a truck ECM into a Camaro. I did not get the security prompt when going truck VIN to Express van VIN. My goal here was to make a Camaro ECM. I did a write entire of a 12 Camaro with HPT, which changed the VIN, then SPS allowed me to write the Camaro file to the ECM. All is good now.
Thanks for the help guys.
Hey guys, ive been searching all over but cannot find a solution and customer service has yet to reply to my email so here i go. I have a swapped 240 that i used hp to tune out vats. Engine and ecm are from g8 l76. Unfortunately i couldnt get speedo reading due to it being an auto car which uses the tcm. So i used gm tis or sps to use a factory ecm calibration from a gxp . It worked except now i cant rear or write using editor even when i try to use previous vin. Most likely due to an updated calibration even with the previous ecm. So how can i unlock it so i can use vats patch?
