    hpt to bin files, newb

After editing my stock tune and save to rewrite, it converts the bin file to an hpt file and won't let me use it. When I rename the file and try to write with it, I get an error message saying it's outside the size parameters, although it's about the same size as the original bin.

.bin is raw format. We convert it to a proprietary format which allows us to store extra information ie history, comments, etc. it also compresses the file size which with the newer pcm's the files are very large so this helps in file size. There is no way to change back to .bin format from .hpt format.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Are you editing with vcm editor 2.x and trying to flash with vcm flasher 1.x?

In vcm editor 2.x, you flash directly in the program, there is no extra flash utility.

Thats just crazy talk? How can the software do a write entire flash with an HPT back into the PCM? Surely at some point the software must convert the HPT back to BIN.

    HAHA, lol!

Either way, I need to get my PCM's original bin file to alter MAP tables and other tables not present with HPT.

Is there anyway I can have my HPT file sent to you guys, decompress it and send back the BIN version? The VIN is already paid for and changing it wouldn't make any sense.

So what do you say? Can your engineers provide a bin file from an HPT file?

    Please

What version of VCM Editor are you using, and what tables are missing?

If you email your tune to support with the request, we can add the parameters so you can edit them.

Your not going to find any better support than this.

If you email your tune to support with the request, we can add the parameters so you can edit them.

I am tuning an L67 3800. Can you add this table to my tune file for me if I send it to you, Keith?

I would like to have the ability to adjust crank fuel vs coolant temp as seen here:

Please email support with that request and they can queue off the task to the appropriate engineer.
