Thread: Fg turbo jet boat

    Fg turbo jet boat

    Have wired up a 2008 Fg turbo engine in a jet boat and done preliminary program changes to suit.
    Starts and runs but wont allow any more than 18 percent throttle. I expected to have this type of issue to over come.
    Anyone care to share what settings I need to change to allow full output?

    Did you use the standard ford pedal?

    Yes, when not running tps goes to 88 percent (100 percent ) but I am guessing torque management is having an issue with the situation.

    Pics?

    If the tps is maxing out when the engine is shutdown i suggest a wiring issue.

    What I ment is the throttle goes from closed to fully open, key on engine off following the pedal posisition so I am confident in my wiring.

    Once running it limits the requested torque I guess.

    Thanks for the reply. I am sure there will be a way.

    Was going to turn Torque module switch off and see what that did but started raining and thought I would check with you all.

    Was the original car an auto?
    I have heard of issues coming up when some guys have changed the gearbox from the ford autos to an old style t400.

    Yes auto. I can't see any switch for trans fitted.
    As you say there must be a work around.

    In the trans tab under general.
    Automatic is the first switch you will see.
    Disable that and see if that fixes the issue.

    how are you achieving min vss ?

    That would be awesome thanks. Dont know why none of the trans stuff is showing for me. Same on another fg file I looked at. On a bf I did all the trans stuff is there.

    Dont believe that lack of that at this point is the main problem, but will need addressing.

    It sounds like Jet "MAY" have had something like this before as he is pretty switched on, but seeing they use an ABS sensor for speed I'm not sure how you can work around it as I don't think there's a flag for it unless you can zero out a hysteresis?

    Its not even getting to the point where that could even remotely be the primary issue in my opinion. I know it will need addressing but first things first.
    I am on my phone so can't post logs.
    All I can say is according to the log it idles at 670 rpm and 15% throttle and29kpa.
    Foot floored and 1500 rpm @ 18% throttle and 46kpa.
    I hazard a guess that in the car in gear stalled on the brakes that it would stall at a higher rpm and map.
    However I could be wrong.
    Of note the only fault codes that are present are not listed.
    U 1900
    U 2514

    I am assuming that these are missing can modules. Don't know.

    Also strange why under trans I only have general and 3 parameters and no tab to select auto or not. The other fg file I have is the same but is an old file so maybe as pre trans support it is not displayed and as trans not fitted it has no settings to display. Hmm.

    Maybe I need to have ecu in a operational vehicle to see the trans ecu to disable? Don't know. Hopefully Jet can shed some light.
