    new to HP tuner question

    Can I plug in my laptop to 120 ac outlet in the garage while connect to the car using HP tuner?

    It's very much frowned upon.

    You only want the laptop battery to be the only thing powering the laptop, any extra voltage could cause a problem and might brick the PCM.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    Thank you very much for the info. I was wondering about all these warning and wanted to confirm it before I make rookie mistake.

    I used a cigarette to laptop converter to charge my laptop while logging and burned out some kind of chip on my interface. I know that's not exactly what you're looking to do, but I would caution any sort of charging of the laptop while using HP Tuners.

    I always thought it was just people being paranoid.. but apparently not

    I appreciated for you answer and sorry for your lost. That is the reason I ask this question here. I guess making sure laptop battery is fully charged is the most important thing.
