    Oil Pressure Low and Negitive

Got a little problem and wanted to see if anybody else has the same thing.

In the VCM scanner readout my oil pressure reads in the negative and bounces around -15 psi.

The dash gauge looks like it's a little high but with out actual numbers on the gauge I can't tell the actual reading. It's definitely not burying the needle in the negative.

I doubt it's the scanner since I can't find any other post about it, but I have to start some where.

I assume it's for your monte carlo??

If so, your oil pressure sending unit does not really send a signal to the PCM for oil pressure. It sends a signal to the dash to sweep the gauge and also sends a signal to produce the oil pressure warning light, and at that point the motor is dead and can't be saved.

The bonneville is the same way. The grand prix's only have a warning light on the dash, the PCM does not ever know the real oil pressure.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
