    VSS a must?

We are doing a Hybryd/Conversion, which has created a problem with shifter location being to far back. In doing so the only solutions that can be had is either to build an offset shifter (which with a 4-4.5" ofset fells like you are rowing a boat!), or to convert to the after market camaro tailhousing conversion for the T56. This will put the shifter in almost the "PERFECT" position, but it is machined for a cable driven speedo.

So now back to our regularly scheduled program LOL, IS it an Absolute must to have the VSS sensor or can it be tuned around? I hope so because this will simplify life!

You do not need the VSS signal for the ECM to function properly, we do not have a VSS signal for our 1998 Z28 and it runs very well.

While you don't need VSS, it does help and will make everything operate smoother. Some operations in the VCM reference vehicle speed (DFCO and reverse lockout solenoid for example). If you can, I'd recommend it. Jagsthatrun may have a solution for you. Check 'em out.
