Thread: 2015 Z06- scanner says it's a 2013- Won't scan most parameters

    2015 Z06- scanner says it's a 2013- Won't scan most parameters

If I hook to a '14 C7 it works. If I hook to a '15 Z06 or my '16 Z06, the scanner shows it as a 2013 and is full of unsupported parameters. None of the histograms work.
I tried it with 3 different Config, files on 2 different laptops.
Last week it would not write to or read my car at all. It said " invalid application key" I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software to no avail. I am 100% that the application key was in fact correct. I ended up just buying a couple of credits just to generate a new application key. That fixed it.
I have no idea if these things are related or not.
The scanner worked fine for me on another '15 Z06 a couple of weeks ago and on my car as well.
    Any ideas?

Pretty sure 2.25 is the only software that can scanner 2015+ applications.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Unless something has changed in the last couple days. The only scanner I can get to successfully work on 2015 is 2.24.

Had the same invalid application error updated key didn't work. Updated software then had to restart my laptop for it to work.

As stated above, the 2.24 scanner does not work on 2015+ you have to use the 2.25 scanner and last time I used it, there were still missing PIDs and limited capabilities.

I'd go along with that except that I tuned a '15 Z06 last month with no problem. I've also tuned a couple of '15 Stingrays with my kits on them.
I have log files from '15s scanned in 2.24
I didn't save any log files from my '16 but I drove it a few times while scanning and it worked OK. At least I'm pretty sure I would have remembered if it hadn't.
What are you doing for a wideband in 2.25?

I tune my 15 c7 exclusively with the 2.24 scanner. I hate the 2.25 scanner

Just talked to two of my dealers. (They hate the 2.25 too) and they have used the 2.24 scanner on '15 Z06s.
I looked at a couple of my '15 log files and it shows them as 2014s but all the '15 parameters are there. ??

Just curious - why do you guys hate the 2.25 scanner? Is it just becuase it's not complete or do you dislike the actual operation of it?

I have it, but really haven't used it...

Because it is in beta still and it doesn't work or doesn't have the capabilities' of 2.24. I have a E78 and a E92 to calibrate Saturday the E92 going to need VVE calibrated and if I have to use 2.25 then I will consider other source.

Ditto, like the functionality of the 2.25 software, hate the look/feel/clunkyness of it... Not having a cursor on the log really blows. I've logged many 15 Z51 and Z06's with 2.24 haven't tried a 16 yet.

I had one of my dealers send me a 2.24 Log file of a '15 Z06. It opens on the desktop as a 14 and shows all the parameters. The same log file opens on 3 different laptops showing a s '13 with most of the parameters showing unsupported.
HPT must have an answer as to why this is happening. It's just weird.
It workd before and now it doesn't?

I scanned a 2015 Escalade with latest 2.24 and it showed up as 2012, with limited parameters. latest 2.25 worked fine. Matter of fact, it appears to be logging at a rate of ~100-200pts per sec..

I have this thing on the dyno and it will just be a PITA without a wideband.
There is some sort of solution to this.
Why does the log file look normal on one computer and not another???
Why could I log the Z06s a few weeks ago and not now?? Why can other tuners log them with 2.24 and I can't? Even if I put an earlier version of the scanner on my laptop it does the same thing.
On another note, we made a config file in 2.25 (they call it something different now) and tried to save it. A window popped up that said "TWO WEEKS" What the hell does that mean?

I agree with both of these.

Brice's suggestion is basically to force your software to repoll for the available pids.

DSteck is also on right track in that there have been over 1100 different 2.24 builds so if you are using, say, 2.24.800 on one pc but version 2.24.1165 on another thats an issue unto itself.
