    Can't open configurations in 2.25

Is anybody having trouble opening configurations in 2.25? I can open the default and change it. But if I save the new then go back to the default then the saved won't open.

Hope I didn't post this in the wrong section.

    What version are you running?

If you can recreate the issue, or isolate it.. we can look into it.

2.25.2418 I went back to 2.24 just to see if it was something I was doing but 2.24 open configs. fine.

In 2.25.2418 I open my scanner, Layout, open layout, click on my config. that I made but it won't come up. If I click the icon Open Channel Layout then the default opens.

Post the file that isn't opening.

Also, some of your terms, like "Open Channel Layout" are confusing.

Your visual "layout", and your "channel config" are two separate things that exist independently of each other.

I can't get any 2.25 configurations to load. Says Invalid file. For some reason when I save the config. it becomes an XML Document. All my configurations in 2.24 are CFG files. What am I doing wrong when saving configs.? Not finding an option in the drop down to make it a CFG file. Layout, Save Layout As...

Sorry, I typed "Open Channel Layout" wrong. Should be Open Channel Config. The icon in the upper left hand side of the scanner screen.

2.24 and 2.25 use different file formats, and are not compatible with each other.

You haven't posted your config file so I'm unable to test.

The HPT site won't let me upload my config. file. If you have email I can send it to you. Or I'm [email protected]

This layout opens just fine for me.

Tell me, CLICK BY CLICK, with proper spelling and precise details, how you are trying to open this?

Don't know why these snippings did not open in the sequence I download but the second snipping is with scanner open with a recently made up config. Third is Layout, Open Layout. Snipping four I highlight config 2 hpt.layout and clicked open. The right hand side changes from Gauge to Gauge and Plot vs. Time but the PIDs in the list remain the same whether connected to the car or not.

Layout only saves the "layout" of the visual data displays (gauges, charts, graphs, etc..)

Channels (what you scan) are saved independently, using the "Save Channel Config As" icon, on the (left) channels panel.

Got it! Thanks Keith! Now to find a way to bring the configs. I've already made to the file. May have to just make them over and save.
