Thumbs up A580 Tuning is Here! EGS52/EGS53

HP Tuners is proud to announce READ & WRITE support for EGS52 & EGS53. These TCMs were used with the A580 5-speed transmission from 2005 to 2015.

This includes but is not limited to the following vehicles:

    • 2006 - 2014 Chrysler 300/300C
    • 2009 - 2014 Dodge Challenger
    • 2006 - 2014 Dodge Charger
    • 2011 - 2012 Dodge Durango (V6 models)
    • 2005 - 2008 Dodge Magnum
    • 2007 - 2011 Dodge Nitro (4.0L models only)
    • 2006 - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    • 2012 - 2015 Jeep Wrangler

After downloading the latest VCM Suite 3.0, you will be able to read and write to your EGS52/EGS53.

***NOTE: We will not support some outdated EGS53 operating systems (VCM Editor will update your TCM Operating System automatically to a newer/supported OS before tuning).***

IMPORTANT: Before tuning these TCMs, please make sure you update to the latest VCM Suite 3.0, discard any TCM reads created with older versions of the software, and RE-READ your vehicle. Prior versions of the software allowed for these TCMs to be read, however if you attempt to load any read that was created using an older version it may cause VCM Editor to crash.

After reading your vehicle, if you get a "Validate Checksum Failed" error, please email a VCM Suite Infolog and the .HPT file to support. For more information on this error please see this thread: Validate Checksum Failed. You will be unable to save or flash this file.

Mark, This is great news!!! I looked at the screenshots but don't see anything for modifying gear ratio. Will there be a new tab under "Speedo" for gear ratio and tire size calibration?

Most should recognize by themselves but here is the list from the post above

    • 2006 - 2014 Chrysler 300/300C
    • 2009 - 2014 Dodge Challenger
    • 2006 - 2014 Dodge Charger
    • 2011 - 2012 Dodge Durango (V6 models)
    • 2005 - 2008 Dodge Magnum
    • 2007 - 2011 Dodge Nitro (4.0L models only)
    • 2006 - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    • 2012 - 2015 Jeep Wrangler
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Just to verify - there's no ability to modify the TCM for increased tire size or differential gear ration changes?

These types of adjustments are not stored in the ECM or TCM on most Chrysler vehicles. We will be adding the adjustment functionality soon.

On the Challenger, Wrangler, And Grand Cherokee are you supporting 3.6, 5.7, and Srt?
    Thanks

All known, up to date calibrations are currently supported. Some outdated calibrations are also supported and more are being added.

I have been able to read a 2014 3.6 Challenger and my 2006 SRT Jeep. I assume that the answer to your question based on this is yes

    Important Notes:
    - The TCM read will not work with and aftermarket TCM (at least not in my 2006 Jeep). I swapped the factory EGS52 in and I was able to read/write.
    - Some (maybe all) DTC switches do not seem to work under transmission diags at this time. Support has been notified.

    This is great! Thanks HPT!

HP - seems like there is an issue if a vehicle was originally equipped with an EGS52 (2006) but was swapped to a EGS53(2007+). Seems like it can't read it, would you have expected that?

Since 4 or more platforms use the same calibration ID ECU how are you populating which shift tables are in use?
    Thanks

I have been able to read an EGS53 Mopar TCM in an '06 Charger originally equipped with an EGS52. Had a checksum validation error at first, but new beta released this aft has been updated with my calibration.

We're aware of the DTC issue, sorry about that. We're fixing it now and will e-mail you.

I just confirmed that with the latest beta (yesterday) that the aftermarket EGS53 TCM's can indeed be read and written to in my 2006 SRT Jeep
I was also able to read/write a factory EGS53 without issue.

    Thank you HPTuners!!!!!!!
