I would probably try with the tune repository and look for a 5.0 CJ file.

Ok so I found these 2 tunes. 1 is from a 5.0 with the Ford CJ throttle body and the 2nd is from a 2013 GT500 with the Ford CJ throttle body. Both have similar numbers in the throttle Throttle body model, however the Effective area X axis is different in both tunes. Identical numbers, different X axis. Which should i use?

    Thanks

I tried all the idle parameters in this tune in my 2013 GT500. Idle is great but I did get a check engine light until I enabled Tip in Mgmt. Had been having problems with my idle dropping off, engine almost dying, at start up. Sure glad I found this one! Thanks!

If those don't work, look for the super cobra jet file in repository. Search for Ford Mustang with a 5.0. The file will say it's a super cobra jet.

I'll check that one out too but my idle is awfully good now with the one above. Not sure how I could get it any better. lol

Did not find the super Cobra you were referring. Would be interesting to compare even though mine idles almost perfect now.

Don't forget to also enter into the PCM the "ETC Idle Throttle Angle" table values from the Super Cobra Jet.

So what exactly will you adjust to make the monoblade behave? I would just like to be able to quantify what changes are needed for what mods. Doing a compare on a file, I don't know what changes were made just for the new throttlebody.

    1. Predicted Throttle Angle(from a CJ File)
    2. Effective Area(from a CJ File)
    3. ETC Idle Throttle Angle Table(from a CJ File)
    4. Increase Intake Manifold Volume(copy from CJ File)

Those 3 will get the car fired up and running without much issue.

You would not want to change your idle airflow tables, unless, you actually needed more/less airflow.

If the car you are tuning is NA with full bolt ons, then those 3 tables should be all you need to run properly.

These 3 tables will tell the PCM the relationship between position and effective area as well as the idle position for idle airflow values.

So if I'm putting this back into a 2008 GT500 which does not have the ETC Idle Throttle Angle Table. Is there anyplace in this tune to put this? LOL. Thanks for the help!

You can use the 65mm TB and it should be very close.

...quick reply to the thread. I spoke with VMP about their 67mm TB and they suggested using the SCJ 65mm data. Thanks to txcharlie for posting.
