the trans uses a calculated "Trans Performance Factor" you can log with the scanner. Based on this factor the shifts will be interpolated between the Normal and Perf tables. Just like a regular Low/High Octane spark tables lookup if you're familiar with that. The performance factor uses things like Accelerations, pedal, braking etc. as inputs. Basically the more your thrash the car the more it moves to the perf table. You can see these params under Auto Shift Properties, General.
