    need 4000 ppm vss signal

I am working on a 2009 Jeep that has had a 6.2 from a 2011 siverado transplanted. I am needing a 4000 ppm VSS signal for a Dakota Digital cruise. It is my understanding that Pin 57 on connector X1 at the PCM can be configured to output a VSS signal but so far it no worky. What do I need to do to make this thing work??

Unfortunately that tcm doesn't have a replicated speed signal. You may be able to make it work by changing the vehicle speed sensor type away from serial.

The stock tune has the VSS set to "disabled" It has options for Rep TOS, and Serial. Today I flashed it to a camaro tune but then it wouldnt even run so I wasnt able to drive it and see if the VSS signal was working.

Did you flash the ECM to an auto Camaro file or a manual Camaro file?

It starrts and runs a couple seconds. I pulled my hair out thinking it was a vats issue but if i give it some throttle it will sputter and act like it wants to run a little . Still pretty much dies instantly though.

Sounds fueling related at that point. I don't remember if Camaros use a speedo output, but I know Corvette files do.

I just looked at the pinout for a 2011 Camaro and pin 57 says not used. For a 2011 Vette, pin 57 is VSS out. Crap crap crap!!

We do those swaps all day long. We are actually working on a CAN BUS module that will work the LS3 cruise control without a GM BCM. It is also programable to use the stock Jeep cruise switch inputs.
What did you use on the Jeep side to get the TACH and etc to work? rpmextreme . com

I wasnt involved in the conversion but they bought a kit that was supposed to make the Jeep stuff play with the GM stuff. It evidently didnt work so they put an aftermarket digital instrument panel in it and then just let the GM PCM run the motor and trans.

We are going to do a 2015 Jeep sometime later this year and I would like to make all the factory stuff work.

How can you tell if the TCM has a replicated speed signal output? I thought all late model E38/T43's could have the DTC's adjusted to suit.

We're trying to do the same thing using an LS2 E38 OS 1250210/6L80E OS 24239353 from a Nov/2006 HSV (G8) installed into a 1977 GMH vehicle using ECM/TCM only.
Harness has VSS output wired from ECM connector J1 pin 57 (wire has
    continuity) to electronic speedo.

Issue is we have no VSS to the speedo, no vehicle speed (SAE) on CAN
although we can see trans input & output shaft speeds using VCM Suite
    (version 3 & version 3 beta)

Vehicle runs well although trans isn't perfect due to lack of VSS.

Can this ECM receive the VSS from the TCM via can & output it as serial
on J1 pin 57? What settings would we use?

If not are there compatible operating systems we can upgrade to that
    will?

I've read that someone with the same issue connected the TCM pin 15 to
the ECM pin 71 to successfully get a VSS although he has a ECM/TCM/BCM from
an 09 G8. I've tried this & could get no signal on our scope or into the ECM!

Any help would be appreciated as HPTuners support reply lacked the detail we require!

"Switches are available in your file to set your speed output to serial. Have you tried that?
If there is no TOSS (as set by the switch in the trans tab), the PCM will attempt to get its speed from wheel speed sensors (ABS).
Unfortunately we have no recommendations as to which OS combo to use. You can always try a newer OS/ECM if that has worked for people in the past."
