    Can't write entire with v3.0 e40 ecm

So i can't write entire with v3.0 on an e40 ecm. support says there's a bug so it's been deleted until a fix is ready. So I restore to the point before the installation of v 3.0 (02-03-2016) , so it's v 2.24 and it won't see the ecm anymore. Tried 2 laptops with the same v 2.24 on 3 different GM vehicles, no go. My scan tools all communicate fine so it's not the ecm. I was just deleting VATS on an engine transplant. Any thoughts? I have to do a write entire to remove vats. 2005 LS2 E40 ecm.

HP tuners, any thoughts on this? I have been recommended by you to download to 3.0 because i'm having an (INVALID VIN/OS PAIR) issue with a gen 4 6L80E setup and you said 3.0 would fix this problem. I have been hesitant to download because I have a few E40s that I have to tune this coming week and I have to write entire on them. This is a big deal for me as well.
    Thanks

If you want to run both 2.24 and 3.0, you need to make sure that you are using 2.24.1080 or higher becuase the 3.0 version updated the MPVI firmware and only 2.24.1170 and highware is compatible with the new MPVI firmware.

    Ok,
I have a version newer than that, so I went ahead and tried downloading it on a new computer, I changed the save location, and it still wiped out 2.24 from my computer. Do I have to save it to a different hard drive, such as an external? I have 2.24 saved on 5 different computers, so losing 2.24 on one is no big deal.

Rename the C:Program(x86):HP Tuners: VCM Suite to like VCM Suite 2_24 and change your shortcuts (if you use them)

I think 1080 used older firmware.

3.0 uses firmware version 120 which I think was only compatible with one or two 2.24 builds towards the very end ie 2.24.1172 or thereabouts.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    That's why I recommend 2.24 @ version 1172 and 2.25 @ version 2873

This is exactly what I did so i'm not sure why 2.24 was removed when i downloaded 3.0

Also 2.24.1170 is the newest version I have so maybe that's my problem.

    Thanks!

Not sure, that works as long as it is done before you download 3.0. 1170 I think would be ok. Had you down loaded 2.25 as well previously, did you rename that one as well before?

Thanks for the feedback, I've learned a lot from what you and other active members have posted on other threads on here!
When I downloaded 2.25 I didn't change any save locations, it just let them both work side by side with no issues. Ill try again with hp tuners, but for now I have 3.0 on one computer and 2.24 on another.

    Thanks

3.0 is different than 2.25 beta when it comes to installation. 2.25 beta was purposely designed to work along side 2.24. 3.0 is designed to "upgrade" 2.24 since it's no longer in a beta status, so it installs to the same location as 2.24. As mentioned above, jsut rename the 2.24 installation directroy under \Program FIles *before* installing 3.0 and they'll both work along side each other. As long as you have one of the latest versions of 2.24 (I use 2.24.1172 and it works fine).
