    Another confused 3.0 user.

Ok anyone correct me if I am wrong please. In 3.0 histograms are now called charts? All the histograms(charts)have to be manualy generated?Afr error is now called Eq ratio error? What I am trying to do is configure maf error,ve error, commanded lambda pids. The names of the pids seem to have changed.Any help would be great.I have gone thru the scanner help over and over and cannot find what I am looking for.

First off, Histograms do not have to be developed manually. You can import in your 2.24 Histo's into 3.0 and I explained that in a thread last night. Right Click the Graph and open the GRAPH DISPLAY LAYOUT EDITOR. Double click the folder in the upper left corne to open a graph. When you do that you will be taken to HP Tuners>VCM Scanner Graphics. These are the 3.0 developed graphs. Go up to the command line and click VCM Scanner. This will bring you up a level in the Folder Hierarchy. Double click Histograms and your 2.24 Histo's will appear. Find the one you want and double click it. It will be imported into the Graph Display Layout Editor page and a warning box will appear stating that some error may exist as a result of the 2.24 to 3.0 conversion. A common error includes column and row axis values ommisions which you can easily acquire from your tune file by copying their row/column values and pasting into the Graphs page and selecting the correct parameter from the PARAMETER SELECTOR page. Correct the area's that require and you can now save the SELECTED GRAPH into the GRAPHS Folder.

Work this and 1) make sure you can accomplish the tasks and 2) did it make the rest of the effort clearer. If not I will continue when you get back.

If done properly where the wideband is Transformed as either AFR/Lambda sensor and the commanded AFR/EQ is from the sensor list as well, then you should be able to use the Math Properties AFR/Lambda error parameters as well.

So taking them one at a time...Commanded Lambda is going to come from the Parameter Selector page (Generic Parameters>Engine>Fuel>Commanded/Desired> Equivalence Ratio Commanded) and as I said above should use the Generic Sensor. Remember you can hit the gear with the green check and reduce the list of potential parameters to those supported by your vehicle. Your Wideband has already been Transformed to one of wide bands contained in Transforms>Oxygen Sensors>Lambda. So now you can go to Maths in the Parameter Selector (Maths>Lambda & AFR) and select EQ Ratio Error.

So based on the first help and the next few you should have setup all required to log Lambda error, into the Graph based on the MAF Hz axis values copied from your tune.

Lastly make sure all parameters are included in you Channel table except the Math parameters.

Hope this helps because it took a hell of a while to develop :-)

This was the computer that your 2.24/2,25 was originally loaded on before you downloaded 3.0?

Yes. So I just don't get what the hell is going on. Oh crap I just thought of something. When I first down loaded 3.0 and realized that all the 2.24/2.25 was gone I panicked and did a system restore to a earlier date to try to get it back. I got everything back but it wouldn't work(definition error) so I redownloaded 3.0.could I have screwed myself?

I'm not sure. I've heard people say you can do that but not sure if I ever heard anyone say it worked....The only think I know that works for sure is adding an extension to the old VCM Suite folder names. I'm not sure what you can do at this point, sorry. Maybe reload the latest 2.24/2.25 (1172/2873), rename and start 3.0 download again.....sorry

I created a new Folder named c:\program file\hptuners\VCM_Suite_BETA_3p0 and installed the 3.0 and it removed the 2.24 folder and the 2.25 folder and all of their contents. This utterly ridiculous!

Yeah I'm in the same boat. 3.0 deleted all of my 2.4 files

3.0 does not delete any existing logs/tunes/configs.

3.0 adds some folders to help you save your various layouts, if you chose to. It's user preference.

Nevermind, I was able to just create the folders I was missing in order to get it to work.
