Hello everybody! I'm brand new to tuning. Got my setup today and got everything installed on my Samsung laptop. I went to my pickup which is a 72 c10 with a 2000 4.8 to read the tune. When I plugged the cable into the obd2 port it started smoking at the laptop plug. Any reason for this to happen? Has anybody else ever had this happen?
You need to plug the OBD cable into the MPVI interface, and the MPVI interface to your laptop using the USB cable.

Ok got it! I was under the impression that the mpvi was just for data logging. I guess I need to study up some more.
