    WOT boost multiplier by gear

    Probably been asked before but did a search and didn't find anything, does HAEDLP7 have WOT boost multiplier by gear available?

    fpv09 is correct, only the supercharged V8s had it. Not sure if the latest XR6 Sprint has had it added. A Ford person told ratter (Australian Ford Forum) that he thought is was going to be added to the turbo 6 at some stage.

    I would expect the sprint to have it, however I highly doubt HPT will go back through old Barra strategies and patch it in.

    If you send me a before & after mod with a strategy that has it, then I can modify the file that doesn't have it supported & will all be good so long as it actually exists in that strategy!

    And there you have it the Sprints have gear based controls. Id say its a switch in the .hpt file we cant see to enable..

    Not quite. The switch and tables are all in the the calibration and the OS has specific code to enable it. For the 6 cylinder the first reference for this functionality I found was in the calibration HAER1UB (XR6 sprint). The supercharged V8 might have had it in from the beginning.

    For your calibration the code does not contain gear based boost control.

    If you are interested for HAFFA the code looks like:

    Easiest way would be to just flash a sprint strategy into your car I guess. Not sure what other features it has if this would have any level of incompatibility. Obviously you'd run into PATS issues if you didn't change the VIN etc.

    edit: On a related topic, as I know nothing about the supercharged v8s how do they physically control boost? I assumed it would be unchangeable without changing the pulley but I've never actually looked under the hood at how they work.

    how would you change the vin if it can't be done in hp?

    it can be with hpt 2.24 & I believe it can be with the latest HPT scanner so long as you have the controller licensed.

    Care to show ho you wouls change the VIN using HP? I have a mate that an flash the Srint tune into falcons but he recons there is an issue with mating up the TCM..

    Have been interested in boost by gear for my XR6T for a while now. There is a bloke in Melbourne who claims to be able to flash stock Sprint tunes on XR6Ts using Ford software.

    EDIT: Have been told that FGX Turbos (eg G6ET and XR6T) have boost by gear available ? Could anyone upload a stock FGX nonsprint turbo file and/or confirm whether this is true.

    youd think FGX pcm would have a fair chance of it working if you flashed a strategy that had that feature onto a pcm that did not, but would be interesting to see if any of the previous normal fg xr6t pcm would work also, wont really know until someone tries flashing a sprint strategy onto some of these other pcm really...

    Like I said previously if you give me a strategy file name your after I can have a look to see if I have it.
