engine won

Daily driver, not tuning the engine just wanted to do a transmission swap (which is complete minus the pcm edit) opened the editor and plugged into my 04 escalade (if that matters) it got stuck at "preparing vcm" a couple times, i read online and saw where people took out the radio fuse and unchecked the "high speed" box... success but it took 10 mins then "timed out" and now the truck's vehicle message center says "unknown driver" and won't start (and when i turned it all the way off i couldn't the the climate control to shut off, so i had to undo the battery to keep it from dying) and now i fear the worst! I emailed hp tuners and have not received any support yet. confirmation that computer is toast or if there is the possibility of retrieving it or getting it reinstalled at a dealer would be a start. thank you in advance for your help!
