I buddy of mine picked up an '01 Sierra 6.0l donor for an engine swap. I can't read the PCM due to invalid checksum error for whatever reason.
He has grabbed another PCM but from a 5.3l. I found a 6.0l stock file online. Can I just put the 6.0l program in the 5.3 PCM with one license for the new PCM?, or do I have to license the 6.0l programs VIN as well.
Not recommended.
What you'd want to do is have the new ecm flashed to stock via tech 2 then read & license it with our software.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
