    Standalone scanning?

    Hi,
I did a search on here for my issue but couldn't find it.
I'm new to HP Tuners but it will scan/log/record just fine, editor seems fine as well. Issue is when I hit record/stop buttons on interface pro nothing happens.
Not sure where what I'm doing wrong?

if I hold down the Record button rather than just a quick tap, yes the ERR light lights up.

if you have already done this then I believe you are having the same problem that I am

1.Key your vehicle into the run position.
2.Connect your interface to your vehicle's obd2 port and to your laptop's usb port.
3.Open VCM Suite Scanner and open your Table/Channel(Primary) Display.
    4.Click the connect icon.
5.Add or delete any PID's you want.
6.Save your config for later use(optional).
    7.Click Scan-MPVI Pro Data Logging.
    8.Click Write Config-Yes.
9.Unplug the USB connector from your laptop.
10.Start vehicle if not already running.
11.Press and Hold the Record button for ~2 seconds to start recording.
12.Press and Hold the Stop button for ~2 seconds when your finished to stop recording.

I am experiencing the same err redlight issue with my standalone scanner. I have used the procedure described in post #5 and currently using VCM Suite Product: VCM Editor 3.2.27. The scanner functions great when using the laptop?

    What year/make/model vehicle?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I am having the same issue on an Australian 2011 Turbo G6E Falcon.

I have tried changing the PID's to different combos and it still has the same issue.

    VCM suite 3.2.130

    Was there a fix?

Standalone datalogging is not available on any ford vehicles.

Started logging for the first time yesterday. First, let me say THANK YOU to you guys, especially schpenxel. I am able to log just fine using my laptop and the space bar for start/stop. But, as said above, the start stop buttons on the MPVI do not work. 2009 Corvette 6.2L LS3. Not sure, I haven't tried scanning stand alone, maybe that's the issue.

Not a biggie, I guess, except to weigh in too. I was curious if maybe the drivers install failed as I had an awful experience with those. I will try steps in post #4 the next DL event.

Did you setup the standalone datalogging configuration as outlined in the help file? This is the most common reason for issues ie not properly setting it up.

Just tried standalone following post #4, on my 2009 C6 Corvette and logging failed. Similar to others. hit the record button and I get a steady red light thereafter until I disconnect the MPVI from the car. I am still playing around with it, assuming I am still doing something wrong in the setup.

But, at least the laptop logging works fine.

Not raising a red flag, just commenting. I'll get back and try post suggestions #11, 12.

I'm new to this site and having a similar issue with the standalone logging. I did all the steps mentioned above multiple times but it didn't work. I hold down the record button but nothing happens. No ERROR lights or anything. I've done tons of logs and uploaded tunes with my laptop connected no problem but i'd like to be able to use the standalone feature.

9.5.Turn key to off position (I never tried it with the vehicle running)
10.Start vehicle if not already running.
11.Press and Hold the Record button for ~2 seconds to start recording.
12.Press and Hold the Stop button for ~2 seconds when your finished to stop recording.
I had the same issue and I found 9.5 worked for me. Just in case someone runs across this and wants to give that a try.
