    3.0 / 2.24

Currently still using 2.24, wondering if I can update to 3.0 on one laptop and keep 2.24 on my other laptop. Basically I want to be able to go back to 2.24 as I have seen the scanner is completely different with 3.0

Leary about committing to 3.0 if it turns out I really don't like it.

So, is this possible or does my tuner box get some sort of update that will not enable 2.24 to work anymore.

After using 3.0, only 2.24.1170 and 2.24.1172 will work with the MPVI box (3.0 updates the firmware in the MPVI box and only the newer versions of 2.24 are compatible with the updated firmware).

Thanks man...... Seems like I upgraded at the right time as I have 2.24.1172, this meaning I can go back and forth?

Installing V3 will get rid of 2.24 altogether...

Before installing the earlier versions of V3 you could re-name the directory that 2.24 was installed to (program files x86-->HP Tuners usually) to something like "HP Tuners 2.24", then install V3, and you'd end up with both being installed. You'd have to setup shortcuts to use the new location of 2.24, but it would ultimately work and you'd have both on the same computer.

I have no idea if this still works with the later versions of V3 though.. I haven't tried it in a while since I got used to V3

"only 2.24.1170 and 2.24.1172 will work"

Does anyone know what date were any of these updates released?

I save my updates, and the date on the 2.24 update I have is 8/30/13. Though, it does not show the version.

    Thanks!

During the first screen or two of the install it should show you what version that file is.

(though I don't think there are any, or at least not many, reasons left to stay on 2.24..)
Post a log and tune if you want help

    Thanks for the reply.
Well, I just upgraded to 3.0, and I am in the middle of the learning curve, doing research, and got pretty busy with vehicles. So, I though I keep 2.24 in one laptop and 3.0 on another until I get caught up.

^^In my opinion, that is by far the best way to get up to speed on 3.0 - running both 2.24 and 3.0 at the same time.

If it would help, I can give you instructions on how to get both 2.24 and 3.0 running on the same laptop.... I (as well as many others) have done that and it works great.

Hi jtrosky, thank you for the reply. That would be great! I appreciate it.

I have my 2.24 update still saved in my HPTuners updates folder, though, it doesn't tell which version it is. (I right clicked on it, and the properties do not show it.)

I have uploaded my previous logs, and only some work correctly. Others, only some of the data loads up, e.g., advance timing-only the first row is populated, and AFR error is not at all. So, I am having to figure that, as well as why my configs (layouts) don't totally save, and not just as channels.

    Again, thanks.

This would be fantastic. PLEASE. I have been using the 3.0 Beta for over a year and there was not much info on the scanner part when I started. So I was using the old 2.4xx scanner. Well I was working on my wife's car and changed the rear end. The Beta I had did not have gear ratio in it so I D/L the new one(104) and it wiped all of 2.4 off My laptop. It would not let me reinstall it either. So I am stuck with four cars in the shop to tune now and none of the Configs I built over the past ten years work! I am having issues getting the 3.0 scan to do what my 2.4 did.

I could really use this fix if you could help.
Laptop is a Alienware 13 with Win 10

    Thank you in advance

    3.0 supports 2.24 config files.

What other issues are you having with 3.0? Ask questions and make posts, we'd be glad to help.

Can you confirm that this is a possibility. Running 2.24 on one laptop and 3.0 on another with the same box?

Guys--post what you need help with and we'll help. If you post a log, tune and what you want a graph/chart/historgram/whatever you want to call it to do, I'm positive I or someone else will help you get V3 setup like you need it.

uninstall all hptuners, then install the last 2.24 file and then find the folder in program files and change name to "hptuners 2.24" then install 3.2 and it should both work, then just create different shortcuts for each one, i used both like that for a while now i find 3.2 much better once use to it
