    Unhappy 4L80E swap problem

Ok, i get a bit confused so can someone clarify if i made something wrong or my trans is damaged:
    1. 4l80E montned to LS1 1999 PCM with custom 1 bar RTT OS (f-body car)
    2. harness extended and moved pin U to pin S
    3. 4L60E selected in tune

now my trans acts like this:
    1. 1st & 2nd gear works like a champ
    2. 3rd gear acts like 2 gear
    3. 4th gear acts like 1 gear

any ideas ? am i missing something, should i do relay mod or segment swap? what to choode in tune file?

    best regards

You need to do the segment swap to the 4l80e and 4l80e should be automatically selected when you do that. You also need to add the wires from the front VSS on the transmission to pins 22 and 23 on the ECU itself (polarity doesn't really matter from what I have been told)

    The 4l60e uses - - - - - - - - The 4l80e uses
    Gear- - - -sol a- - - - sol b - - - - - sol a - - - - sol b
    1st - - - - on - - - - on - - - - - - on - - - off
    2nd - - - - off - - - - on - - - - - - off - - - off
    3rd - - - - off - - - - off - - - - - - off - - - on
    4th - - - - on- - - - off - - - - - - on - - -on
    -

So the gearing makes sense except for why first and second seem to be working fine...

Also the gear ratios are different between the two transmissions

    4l60e 4l80e
    3.06 2.48
    1.62 1.48
    1.00 1.00
    .70 .75

Now I know that overdrive difference doesn't seem like much (I mean how much difference could .05 make) but in my opinion it is the difference of running 4.88 gears vs 4.56 to keep your rpms down on the freeway...

I hope some of that helped

(Obviously my graphics didn't work out as planned)
