    Unable To Upgrade E40 OS

    2005 Pontiac GTO M6
    HPTuners 3.0.96

Attempted to upgrade to the 2bar OS but keep receiving a prompt when trying to write, "write calibration selected for E40 but operating system ID's are different".

Followed the instructions but same situation:
    https://www.hptuners.com/help/vcm_ed...ters_gm_os.htm

What I have found is that I think that I need to flash back to the original stock tune but I do not have it. Found an original stock tune from the repository. From what I understand if I were to flash a downloaded stock tune from another car it may brick the PCM. Also, that I would need to purchase two more credits.

The car has been tuned throughout the years by Diablosport and then using HPTuners from other folks who do tuning so getting THE factory stock tune for my particular car is nonexistent. I am now taking the reigns and learning for myself using The Tuning School and forums.

So my questions are how do I restore the car back to the factory tune by not using a TechII and then upgrade to the 2bar OS? Is installing the stock tune necessary? Once I upgrade the OS can I flash my original modified tune?

    Thanks in advance.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Thats odd, there is no 2.4 version never has been.

Additionally its odd support would tell you to go backwards in versions, I'd be curious to take a look at your ticket. What is your ticket number you submitted to support so I can review your correspondence?
